NAD-1301 Unsaturated Polyester Resin

General Characteristics of NAD-1301 Unsaturated Polyester Resin:

Resin Type: These resins are usually orthophthalic or isophthalic. NAD-1301 is likely to be orthophthalic, which is suitable and cost-effective for general fiberglass applications.

Applications: Suitable for the production of composite parts such as fiberglass, sculpture, fiberglass sheets, automotive parts, sports equipment and decorative artifacts.

Properties:

Suitable viscosity for penetration into glass fibers (needle or mat).

High mechanical strength and good flexibility (up to 3 times more flexible than carbon fiber).

Good chemical and moisture resistance.

Gel Time and Curing Time are usually between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the catalyst and accelerator.

Shrinkage during curing: about 4-8%.

Composition: Requires hardener (peroxide) and accelerator (cobalt) for curing, which must be prepared separately. Recommended mixture ratio: 0.2-0.5% cobalt and 1-2% peroxide.

Advantages: Economical price compared to epoxy and vinyl ester resins, ease of use, and good adhesion to glass fibers.

Safety tips: The resin is toxic in liquid form and requires the use of gloves, masks, and safety glasses.

Special Information on NAD-1301:

Since NAD-1301 is not specifically mentioned in the references, it is likely one of Nadpolymer’s general or specialty resins for fiberglass applications. Nadpolymer produces a variety of resins (orthophthalic and isophthalic) and NAD-1301 may be the resin with optimal properties for high-strength fiberglass parts or specialty applications.
