Post-cure Notes
For most applications, where the molded product will be used at ambient temperature, satisfactory sheets can be produced without the need for post-curing at elevated temperatures, provided the shop temperature is not less than 20°C.
For more critical applications, where optimum properties are required, or where the molding service temperature is above ambient temperature, post-curing at elevated temperatures is recommended.
The optimum temperature for NAD-1201 unsaturated polyester resin is eighty (80)°C. After removal from the mold, the sheets should be allowed to mature for 24 hours at a workshop temperature not exceeding 20°C.
Before post-curing, place the piece in an oven with suitable support to prevent warping and gradually increase the temperature from ambient to 80°C.
Leave the mold at 80°C for three hours and then turn off the oven. Allow the mold to cool slowly in the oven. After curing, for best results, this process should be carried out immediately after the 24-hour maturation period.
Storage conditions
NAD-1201 unsaturated polyester resin is a product sensitive to temperature, light and oxidation. Therefore, it should be stored indoors in a dry place at a temperature between 5 and 25°C.
Always store in original, unopened and undamaged containers. Avoid storing the material in direct sunlight.
NAD-1201 unsaturated polyester resin should be stored in the dark and in suitable closed containers. It is recommended that the storage temperature is below 20°C, but should not exceed 30°C.
Ideally, containers should be opened immediately before use. Where storage is to be carried out outdoors, it is recommended that drums be placed in a horizontal position to prevent possible water ingress.
Packaging
NAD-1201 is supplied in 200 kg drums.
Shelf Life
Minimum 4 months after production.
Health and Safety
