After curing unsaturated polyester resin
For most applications where the molded product is used at ambient temperature, satisfactory sheets can be produced without post-curing at elevated temperatures, provided that the shop temperature is less than not lower than 20°C.
For more critical applications, where optimum properties are required, or where the molding temperature is above ambient, post-curing at elevated temperatures is recommended.
The optimum temperature for NAD-1114/1 is 80°C. After removal from the mold, the sheets should be allowed to mature for 24 hours at a shop temperature not lower than 20°C.
Before post-curing, place the part in an oven with suitable support to prevent warping and increase the temperature from ambient to 80°C in 10°C steps.
Leave the mold at 80°C for three hours and then turn off the oven. Allow the mold to cool slowly in the oven. After curing, it is most effective if done immediately after the 24-hour maturation period.
Storage conditions for unsaturated polyester resin
NAD-1114/1 is a product sensitive to temperature, light and oxidation. Therefore, it should be stored indoors in a dry place at a temperature between 5 and 25°C. Always keep in the original, unopened and undamaged containers. Avoid storing the material in direct sunlight.
NAD-1114/1 should be stored in the dark in suitable closed containers. Here, it is recommended that the storage temperature is below 20°C, but should not exceed 30°C.
Ideally, the containers should be opened immediately before use. Where they are to be stored outdoors, it is recommended that the drums are placed in a horizontal position to prevent possible water ingress.
Packaging
NAD-1114/1 unsaturated polyester resin is supplied in 200 kg drums.
Shelf Life
