Polya Paste Types
PRO Paste
PRO Pastes are paste paints with organic and inorganic pigments, made as a combination of pigment powders. These paste paints have special formulations that use pigments selected to meet the desired performance requirements in composites. Transparent Pastes
Transparent Pastes are organic specialty paints commonly used in the manufacture of buttons, jewelry, GRP galvanized sheets, lighting equipment, windows and tinted glass. These pastes can be mixed with matte, metallic and pearlescent pastes in proportions of 0.01% to 1.00%, or different transparent pastes can be combined to achieve unique and different colors. The true colors of these pastes are only visible when mixed with polyester resin.
Light Pastes
Light pastes are mainly a mixture of white paste with various shades of pastel colors. These pastes are suitable for coloring gelcoats, castings and furniture finishes. Clear Button Pastes
Polypigment’s Clear Precision Pastes are specifically designed for the button industry. These Clear Precision Pastes should only be mixed together and the recommended maximum mixing ratio is 1% in polyester resin. It is not recommended to use these colors in combination with other color pastes. These colors may fade over time, so they are not suitable for polyester products that are intended for outdoor use or require high weather resistance. Clear Button Pastes should not be used in gelcoat coloring.
Metallic and Pearlescent Pastes
This group of pigments creates a reflective effect that varies depending on the material and light source. These paste colors create a metallic or pearlescent effect when used with gelcoats or clear paste colors. Metallic pigments should only be used in spray applications. Their usage rate varies between 4% and 20% depending on the desired effect. After mixing, you should wait 1 hour before using.
Custom Color Pastes
The pigment paste pasties in this group are recommended for coloring gelcoats and polyester resins, pultruded profiles, SMC-BMC sheets and pastes, as well as for coloring cellulose, acrylic, polyurethane and epoxy resin systems, provided that the necessary controls are carried out in these systems. Custom color pastes can be prepared based on RAL, Pantone and NCS colors or from 4×4 cm samples. Since color pastes may have a negative impact on the viscosity, gelation and curing time of gelcoats, you can obtain ready-made Polijel custom color gelcoats from Poliya.
